Kyaing Tong is well-known for its scenic beauty and many colourful ethnic minority groups called Akha, Lahu, Loi, Lahu, Palaung and so forth. Kyaing Tong is one of the largest of the Shan State in Kingdom of Myanmar. It is a historical town with glorious past in which the rulers (Sawbwas) or the kings and people of Kyaing Tong once stood as staunch supporters of the kings from Myanmar.
